who to keep and for how long?

I am in a 5 by 5 league. this year we switch from 4 by 4 to 5 by 5 adding strikeouts and runs scored.

santana at 38. keep him. even better in a 5 by 5 league. like pedro martinez at his peak without the injuries.
millwood at 8. keep him. good pitcher in a bad pitcher's park.
rogers at 3. keep him.
rivera at 38. drop him. closers are not worth as much in 5 by 5.

redmond at 1. keep him. good average gives him small value.
swisher at 11. keep him. corner eligible works for my team which is loaded with outfielders.
cintron at 1. keep him. should play more than last year. fills a middle spot cheap.
peralta at 10. drop him. short leash after a bad second year. can probably buy him for single digits if i want him back.
punto at 10. drop him. not enough power here.
bradley at 17. keep him. if i could project 500 or more at bats, he would be worth keeping.
thames at 1. keep him. should get enough at bats to earn his spot with detroit.
dye at 21. keep him. career year far above expectations.
patterson at 13. keep him. if he ever hits lefties, he would be huge.
hunter at 24. keep him. strong finish to 2006 season. signed with twins through 2007. in this league, we lose players who are traded to the national league, andso my guess is he won't be traded in season.

might not protect bradley, thames, or hunter. since i only have 5 outfield spots, i want at least one spot open other than the dh/utility for an outfielder. i want to go into the draft with flexibility. i don't want to be shut out of the outfield bidding.

now that we are 5 by 5, i am looking more for starters and the strikeouts i can get from their innings. the strikeout category will probably make the 900 inning minimum in this league a moot point. and teams will be more likely to punt saves in a 10 column game.

switching to 5 by 5 hurts the closer in 2 ways: 1) saves mean less in a 10 column game. 2) closers don't pitch enough innings to get a lot of strikeouts.
